Two more prison officers who were injured in the Negombo prison clash and were receiving treatment in critical condition at the Colombo National Hospital have reportedly died in the early hours of this morning. The deceased are two prison officers aged 25 and 39.
Accordingly, the number of prison officers killed in the Negombo prison clash has increased to ten.
Police said that 21 prison inmates have also died in the clash that took place in the prison on July 5 and 6. Accordingly, the total number of deaths has increased to 31.
