President Anura Kumara Dissanayake said that the proposed 22nd Amendment to the Constitution will not be reversed for any reason. He said this while addressing a public meeting of the National People's Power held in Bulathsinhala yesterday (6).

A media report has emerged that the decision regarding the petitions filed in the Supreme Court against this constitutional amendment will be received soon, and the President emphasized that it will be passed in Parliament after receiving the decision.

"We have made amendments to the laws. We have made the necessary constitutional amendments for that. We are moving forward without fear. What will happen then? Those who were under the protection of the black law are scared. They are running to embassies. They are writing to organizations around the world.

Remember. We are making these decisions for the people. We will not reverse any decision we make. The decision on the 22nd Amendment will be made soon. I saw that the newspapers reported that it would be around 18 days. After the decision is made, it will be tabled in Parliament and passed quickly.

We need to punish these corrupt people. That is how we need to break this black rule." President Anura Dissanayake said while addressing the public meeting.
