The Central Bank is given a week to explain the missing $2.5 million.

MP Dr. Harsha de Silva says that the Finance Ministry report has indicated that the Central Bank is also responsible for the disappearance of $2.5 million from the Treasury.

He points out that a week has been given to inform about the Central Bank's position in this regard.

The Government Finance Committee met yesterday (08) afternoon to discuss the disappearance of $2.5 million from the Treasury.

Treasury Secretary Dr. Harshana Suriyapperuma and Central Bank Governor Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe were also summoned for the discussion.
