On 07/09/2022, Supun Hansaka, a resident of Boralasgamuwa, who broke into President Ranil Wickramasinghe's private house at Flower Road, Colombo and stole a metal conch shell from the house, was sentenced to one year imprisonment with hard labor by the Mt.Lavenia Magistrate's Court, which was suspended for five years. In addition, the court imposed a fine of Rs.1500/- on him.

On the same day, Dilruk Madhushanka, a resident of Embillawatta Road, Boralasgamuwa, entered the President's private residence and stole a model of a sailing ship from a bottle inside the house. The court also sentenced him to 6 months hard labor and suspended the sentence for 5 years.
