Charles Nirmalanathan, a Member of Parliament from the Tamil National Alliance, has demanded that the government provide guns to farmers to protect their crops if they fail to implement the decision to send monkeys to China. He conveyed this request in a letter addressed to the Defense Minister.
The MP also highlights that farmers in the Vanni region are abandoning their farming activities due to the damages caused by monkeys.
