The financial contribution of one million US dollars provided by Sri Lanka to provide relief to the victims of the tragedy that occurred in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Darding and other districts due to the recent flash floods in Nepal was officially handed over to the Nepalese government today.
The financial assistance was officially handed over to the Nepalese Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal by the Sri Lankan Ambassador to Nepal Ruwanthi Delpitiya at the Nepalese Foreign Ministry in Kathmandu.
On this occasion, Sri Lankan Ambassador Ruwanthi Delpitiya expressed her deep condolences and solidarity on behalf of the Government and people of Sri Lanka to the people of Nepal and conveyed her deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in this disaster.
The purpose of this financial assistance is to support the humanitarian relief and rehabilitation operations being carried out by the Government of Nepal, as well as to assist communities affected by floods and landslides.
