Spain defeated Argentina 1-0 in the final of the FIFA World Cup on Sunday.
The final match, held at MetLife Stadium in New York, USA, was a thrilling affair. Both teams failed to score. Then an extra time was given to decide the winner.
Spain took the lead in extra time with a superb goal by Spanish striker Ferran Torres. The goal was officially confirmed after a review by VAR.
Argentina were reduced to 10 players for the rest of the match after midfielder Enzo Fernandez was sent off for a second yellow card (red card) in extra time.
Argentina, led by Lionel Messi, came close to scoring several times throughout the match, but were unable to break through the Spanish defence and goalkeeper.
Spain, who won their first World Cup in South Africa in 2010, won their second FIFA World Cup in 16 years
