A SLTB bus travelling from Colombo to Ampara has faced a serious accident due to a sudden heart attack suffered by the driver, police sources say.
The incident, which occurred at around 5.30 am today (24), was caused by the bus driver losing control of the bus due to a sudden heart attack, the sources further said. The accident occurred in the Ambagaha Junction area of Wellampitiya. Although the bus driver was rushed to hospital, he was reported to have died by then.
The bus involved in the accident belongs to the Ampara depot.
