Former Mayor Rosie Senanayake appeared before the Presidential Commission appointed to investigate alleged corruption and fraud in the Colombo Municipal Council this morning (17).
She told the media that she had been summoned before the Commission to inquire into the program to provide food vouchers to low-income and needy people through Sathosa, a government agency, during the Covid-19 pandemic and economic crisis.
"Tell the people why I was summoned. During the pandemic and economic crisis, we provided food vouchers to poor people through Sathosa. I was summoned to answer their questions regarding that program," she said.
