Parliamentary member Ravi Karunanayake, who was arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption, has been released on bail.

He was arrested when he appeared before the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption and was produced before the Colombo Additional Magistrate this afternoon (31). The Magistrate, after considering the arguments of the lawyers of both parties, ordered the release of Parliamentarian Ravi Karunanayake on bail.

He was arrested in connection with an investigation into an incident in which three employees recruited for a special project of the National Lotteries Board were allegedly used for political activities and caused losses to the government. A travel ban has also been imposed on the MP.
