Wildlife regulators have expressed their strong opposition to the illegal incorporation of civil defense officers into the Wildlife Conservation Department.
Although they have requested a meeting with the Director General of Wildlife regarding this illegal and coercive action, it has not been received yet. An attempt to meet the Director General on the 6th also failed, according to a statement issued by the Wildlife Rangers Association.
A statement issued by the union states that all trade union members of the Department of Wildlife will report for medical leave on 13 July 2026 (tomorrow) to protest against this government action that is putting the professional rights of those employed in the wildlife conservation sector and its services in a serious crisis. They hope to hold a protest in front of the department and then hand over a memorandum regarding their concerns to the Director General.
