Harshana Rukshan, President of the All-Island Canteen and Restaurant Owners' Association, stated that a decision has been made to increase the prices of 'short eats' (snacks) by 5 rupees. He explained that this price hike which also applies to parathas has become necessary following a 13-rupee increase in the price of imported wheat flour.
Speaking to the media today (21), he noted that the decision was made to implement a slight increase in the prices of these food items, and added that the revised prices would be announced in due course.
