Petition against the removal of Ven. Gnanasara Thero’s robes to be heard on the 22nd.

The Court of Appeal has ordered that petitions filed against the decision by prison authorities to remove the robes of Ven. Galagodaatte Gnanasara Thero Secretary of the Bodu Bala Sena, who is currently incarcerated be taken up for consideration on the 22nd of this month.

These petitions were filed by a group of Buddhist monks, including Ven. Theeneeyawala Palitha Thero.

This decision was announced today (15) when the petitions were presented before a three-judge bench of the Court of Appeal, comprising Judges Amal Ranaraja, Mahen Gopallawa, and Priyantha Fernando.
