The Sri Lanka Telephone Regulatory Commission has decided to ban video calls within the Colombo metropolitan area from tomorrow until further notice. This has been communicated to all the companies providing mobile phone services in Sri Lanka through a letter signed by Jayantha de Silva, the chairman of the said commission.
It is stated in the message that intelligence information has been received that armed mobs are working with the aim of spreading violence by destroying lives and property, and that the party is working to spread the violence quickly through video messages.
