A person who was seriously injured in a shooting incident in Naimulla area, Payagala, has been admitted to Nagoda Hospital, police say. The shooting occurred yesterday afternoon and is suspected to have occurred following a clash between two groups of underworld members, police say.
The person who was shot and taken to the hospital is said to be "Dila", the brother-in-law of "Panadura Nilanga", a member of a criminal gang, and it is reported that the shooting may have been carried out by another organized criminal and large-scale drug trafficker, Salindu Malshitha alias "Kudu Salindu".
