National People's Power (NPP) Member of Parliament Asitha Niroshana and Kaduwela Mayor Ranjan Jayalal have been summoned to the Athurugiriya Police regarding an incident where land belonging to the Millennium City housing complex in Athurugiriya was allegedly used illegally for a 'Metro' bus depot.

They were summoned following a complaint lodged by the housing complex's management, alleging that the two individuals had forcibly seized the land in question. The management alleges that the police have failed to take action despite nearly five days having passed since the complaint was filed.

The Athurugiriya 'Metro' bus depot was opened on September 29 under the patronage of NPP MP Asitha Niroshana and Kaduwela Mayor Ranjan Jayalal, with the site preparation having been carried out on September 26. The housing complex administration alleges that a 100-perch land area belonging to the Millennium City housing complex in Athurugiriya has been seized for use as a metro bus depot, and that the parties involved took possession of the land forcibly. Subsequently, the administration lodged a complaint with the Athurugiriya Police regarding the incident.

In connection with this matter, National People's Power (NPP) Member of Parliament Asitha Niroshana and Kaduwela Mayor Ranjan Jayalal were summoned to the Athurugiriya Police yesterday (30).
