Kasagala Green Plantation is a lie - Central Bank says .

The Central Bank of Sri Lanka has issued a special statement regarding Kasagala Green Plantation (Private) Company.

The statement issued by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka states that the statement made by a director of the company that its institution is an institution regulated by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka is completely false and misleading.

The statement has denied the statement made by the company's director, Malwattage Ranjith Nandana Peiris, while participating in the "Pini Viyana" program broadcast on the Independent Television Network (ITN) on June 8, 2026, that Kasagala Green Plantation (Private) Company is an institution regulated by the Central Bank.

In addition, the statement states that information and documents are submitted to the Central Bank every six months as required by the Central Bank, and that the Central Bank inquires from the company if there is any problem.

The Central Bank states in its statement that it officially and firmly rejects these statements, which are false statements that have no legal basis.

The Central Bank also states that such statements may cause serious harm to the public who watched this program through electronic and social media.

Accordingly, the Central Bank has taken steps to investigate whether Kasagala Green Plantation (Private) Company Limited has acted in violation of the provisions of the Financial Services Act No. 42 of 2011.
