IGP Priyantha Weerasuriya says that he is ready to face any challenge. He states that he came prepared to face any situation when he joined the police service, and that is why he is not afraid of anything.
The IGP said this while responding to a question raised by journalists regarding a statement made by Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna General Secretary Sagara Kariyawasam recently.
He said that he has full confidence to travel from one end of the country to the other even without any security.
Although he had such confidence as a police officer, the politician who made the statement would not be able to travel in such a way, he said, and the reason for this is that politicians have caused great destruction to society by making false statements and committing injustices.
The IGP stated that he will act without fear as he has never committed such acts.
