It is reported that a plan has been planned to implement a program to provide 20 kilos of rice as a convenient payment scheme for public servants. The paddy purchased by the government from paddy farmers is to be converted into rice and given to government servants under a maximum of 20 kilos.

Commenting on this, Minister of Trade, Commerce, Food Security and Cooperative Development Wasantha Samarasinghe said that Kekulu and Nadu rice have been planned to be provided in this way.

"We are going to give 20 kilos of rice to government employees. There is a proposal from the Ministry of Agriculture to give 20 kilos of rice to government employees at a slightly reduced price. These 20 kilos will be given in two 10 kilo packets as a payment method. A voucher will be given so that they can be purchased from the Sathosa cooperative." He said .
