Sri Lanka Cricket will henceforth be subject to the Right to Information Act (RTI) and will take steps to provide information requested by the public, said Eran Wickramaratne, chairman of the Cricket Transformation Committee.
Pointing out that the previous Cricket Board refused to provide information requested by the public, saying that they were not subject to the RTI Act, Eran Wickramaratne states that that attitude has now completely changed. He states that greater transparency is needed to dispel the doubts that have arisen regarding the governance and financial affairs of the cricket body. In addition, he says that if accurate information is made public, many baseless allegations and problems will not arise.
Cricket Transformation Committee Chairman Eran Wickramaratne said that his future plans include promoting cricket from the school level, developing stadiums and training facilities, and that former famous players such as Kumar Sangakkara, Siddhartha Wettimuni and Roshan Mahanama will contribute to these activities.
