Egyptian TV presenter Sarah Khalifa and 11 others have been sentenced to death, foreign media reported.
The media further said that this sentence was imposed due to the fact that these people were convicted of drug charges.
The government-run Al-Ahram newspaper has stated that she and her group are members of an organized crime group that is involved in importing and selling raw materials used to produce drugs from abroad.
The charges against Sarah Khalifa and the 11 suspects include purchasing materials used to produce drugs with the aim of transporting them, establishing a specialized organized crime group for that purpose, and possessing and transporting unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
At the age of 39, Khalifa became more famous thanks to the television program Mission Impossible, which was broadcast on crime issues.
Meanwhile, it is reported that she has denied the allegations against her.
