Two powerful earthquakes have struck near the Venezuelan capital, Caracas. The United States Geological Survey (USGS) said a 7.2-magnitude earthquake was followed 39 seconds later by a 7.5-magnitude earthquake. The quake killed 32 people and injured more than 700, the media reported.
A state of emergency has been declared following the quakes, and rescue operations are continuing to find people believed to be trapped under the rubble.
