Today, ''Magen Ratata Oraganiserion'' submitted a complaint to the Police Illegal Assets Investigation Division to investigate the assets of popular model Piyumi Hansamali.
Addressing the media after presenting the complaint, the president of the organization, Sanjay Mahawatta, expressed suspicion about how she acquired the Range Rover Jeep with the number CBH 1949, which is worth nearly 100 million rupees and was previously used by former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
Mahawatta raised concerns about whether the former president gave this jeep to Piyumi Hansamali, or if she gave it to him.
He also noted that Piyumi Hansamali currently resides in a luxury apartment, prompting him to question how she earned the money for such a lifestyle.
In addition to her work as a model and actress, she sells beauty products. However, Mahawatta stated that her income from these sources does not seem sufficient to cover her expenses. Therefore, he suspects that Piyumi Hansamali may be involved in money laundering.
