Businessman Dhammika Perera has issued a warning regarding fake videos—created using Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology—that are circulating on social media and promoting investment schemes.
In an official statement, Dhammika Perera’s office clarified that he has no connection whatsoever to these videos, nor to the investment platforms or claims featured within them. The statement further noted that these videos represent a malicious attempt to mislead the public. The announcement requests the public to report such content to the respective social media platforms, to the Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Readiness Team (Sri Lanka CERT) via [email protected], or to the police.
His office has also advised the public to refer only to Dhammika Perera’s official social media accounts for accurate information.
