The Court of Appeal has issued an interim injunction against a notice issued by the Director of Coastal Conservation to demolish a beach restaurant located on the Wellawatte beach. Accordingly, the implementation of the said notice has been prevented until the 21st.
The Court of Appeal gave this ruling after considering a petition filed by the restaurant in question. President's Counsel Faizer Musthapha appeared for the petitioner.
