The discussion held under the co-chairmanship of the President's Secretary Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake and Minister Krishantha Abeysena was attended by the Cardinal and a group representing the Catholic Church .
The discussion examined the administrative problems of Catholic schools taken over by the government, the preparation of a methodology for the teaching staff for Catholicism, and the current progress in recruiting Catholic nuns and priests for the teaching profession, according to the President's Media Division .
His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith emphasized that the government should further investigate the damage caused to Sri Lanka's maritime zone due to the Express Pearl ship that caught fire and was destroyed off the coast of this country.
