It has been confirmed that the T56 type firearm found by the Police Special Task Force officers in a forest in Mudugamuwa, Dickwella, was in the possession of the Matara Magistrate's Court as evidence.
Court sources state that a special investigation has been started regarding the removal of the firearm is in the Matara Magistrate's Court warehouse.
This firearm has now been identified as the T56 firearm used to kill 45-year-old Mudugamuwa Arachchi Sanjeeva, a resident of Matara, Uyanwantha South, who was killed on August 15 in a coconut field in Bodarakanda area, Dickwella.
