The Coconut Research Institute Chairman, Professor Dr. Ajith Jayaweera, said that the upcoming 2027 harvest will further decline due to the prevailing dry weather.
To address this situation, coconut landowners should be more careful about retaining water in their plantations and steps should be taken to cultivate new coconuts.
However, the expected coconut harvest this year is 3818 million nuts, which is an 11% increase compared to the previous year, said the Coconut Research Institute Chairman, Professor Dr. Ajith Jayaweera.
