The police raided a party organized through social media in the Victoria area of Theldeniya on September 5th and arrested 41 people. The police said that 36 men and 05 women were among the arrested.
The male suspects, aged between 21 and 40, are residents of Gelioya, Aluthwatta, Warakapola, Peradeniya, Ampitiya, Kandy and Hanguranketha.
The five women, aged between 22 and 43, are residents of Pallekele, Peradeniya, Hanguranketha, Dehiwala and Katugastota.
The raid was carried out by a team of officers of Theldeniya Police based on intelligence information received.
During this raid, 947 milligrams of cannabis, 3.657 grams of hashish, 1.276 grams of ice, 18 pills and 21 illegal cigarettes were seized.
In addition, the police have also seized 35 500 milliliter beer cans and 13 750 milliliter arrack bottles. The Teldeniya Police are conducting further investigations into this matter.
