Former Governor Azad Sally held a press conference in Colombo on the 9th (2021-03-09) stating that the Muslim community in this country does not care about government law and that they are subject only to the Koran and Hadith and that their law is Sharia law. Ven. Pannajothi Thero of Passaramulla has lodged a complaint with the CID on behalf of the triparty Bhikku Association.
"We cannot change the law that has been in place for 73 years with the arrival of Gotabhaya Rajapaksa. Our law is ours," he said. Mr. Sally's statement dated 09.03.2021 is a statement punishable under the Prevention of Terrorism Act of Sri Lanka.
Azad Sally has also committed an offense punishable under the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights Act No. 56 of 2007, Bhikku Association says their complain.
