Sri Lanka has reported 35 malaria patients in the past ten months of this year, said specialist community physician Indeevari Gunaratne.

However, she noted that all of the patients were Sri Lankans who had returned from malaria-prone foreign countries such as India, Thailand and Myanmar, and were engaged in employment or business activities in those countries.

She added that one of the patients died while the other 34 have now fully recovered.
