Pivithuru Hela Urumaya leader Udaya Gammanpila claims that Anura Kumara Dissanayake will continue the new constitution drafting process initiated in 2015. He states that on page 230 of the National People's Power (NPP) election manifesto, there is a plan to make Sri Lanka a secular state by removing the priority given to Buddhism, which was known as "Orumittanaduwa" in the 2015 constitution-making process.
Gammanpila made these remarks while attending an election rally for Universal Power presidential candidate Mr. Dilith Jayaweera, held in Bandaragama. He further commented:
"Sajith and Ranil are one and the same, and Anura is no different. They’re like wild coconuts from the same tree. Mr. Ranil speaks to Anura on stage the same way he talks to him over the phone. And when he does, Anura blushes in embarrassment. But Sagala isn't like that—there’s no confusion there. They are friends, living by splitting one principle into two.
If you look at the three policy statements, they’re all identical. One is purple, one is green and yellow, and the other has rainbow colors—that's the only difference. All three are not local products. They are goods produced at the American Embassy and translated into Sinhala at the Indian Embassy. When those policy statements were originally made in English and translated into Sinhala, some English words were retained when the right Sinhala words couldn't be found. The colors may differ, and the words may vary, but the principles are exactly the same."
